Young people in Vietnam are at increased risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV, and often lack access to accurate health information and youth-friendly services. USAID’s Support for Technical Excellence and Private Sector Sustainability in Vietnam (STEPS) project is partnering with Durex, the Vietnam Administration for HIV/AIDS Control, and Glink, a community-based private clinic, on a campaign normalizing STI check-ups and sexual health services. The campaign, co-financed by Durex and USAID, encourages young people to access sexual health screening and other relevant health services, including HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis. The campaign leveraged multiple online channels, including Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and e-commerce sites, to disseminate informative and trendy edutainment content together with a platform for registration. Since the launch of the campaign on November 23, its videos have been viewed more than 1.8 million times on YouTube.

Public-private partnerships are a powerful strategy to reach young people with essential HIV and sexual health information and health care services that align with their needs and preferences, and advance Vietnam’s goals of ending AIDS and ensuring universal health coverage by 2030.
