USAID is providing an additional $4.5 billion in direct budgetary support
to the Government of Ukraine.

These funds will allow the Government of Ukraine to continue providing
essential services to its people, including social and financial assistance.

Administrator Power visited Colombia to attend the Inauguration of
President Gustavo Francisco Petro Urrego.

While there, she met with environmental defenders working to protect
biodiversity, advance climate action, and enhance rural development.

Newly assigned USAID leadership met with Administrator Power to
discuss how they will guide USAID’s inclusive development efforts.

USAID announced $!5 million for the United Nations Central Emergency
Response fund to mitigate food insecurity challenges in the Horn of Africa.

In Afghanistan, USAID and partners work with community leaders to prevent gender-based violence against women. USAID celebrated World Radio Day. During emergencies, radios are powerful tools that connect people. In Honduras, USAID updated sanitation and hand washing stations at Mario Rivas Hospital. USAID and its partners opened the Women Entrepreneur Act office, supporting business women in Cambodia.

Last week, the world marked World Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) Day. Since 2006, USAID has provided more than $1 billion to eliminate NTDs. USAID provides food assistance to people in Madagascar who are affected by an ongoing drought. In the Philippines, USAID and its partners teach children the importance of mangroves in sustaining fisheries. USAID-supported psychologists train teachers to help children cope with conflict in eastern Ukraine.

USAID and Global Communities are building temporary shelters for families affected by recent hurricanes in Honduras. USAID and partners are providing detection, care and treatment for tuberculosis at Philippine daycare centers. In Fiji, USAID and partners distribute hygiene kits to vulnerable families following Tropical Cyclone Yasa.
