Botswana

Botswana is a strong ally of the United States of America. Until recently, the country experienced robust economic growth. With nearly one-quarter of adults infected with HIV, social services and the economy have struggled to keep up, especially with the resource-intensive COVID interventions.

USAID in Botswana has significantly contributed toward achieving  HIV epidemic control; with the country currently at 93-98-98 on the UNAIDS target of 95-95-95.  We currently provide technical expertise and financial resources to support the country’s efforts to streamline service delivery to those most vulnerable to HIV, and most recently we are supporting the country in the fight against the COVID pandemic; including the national rollout for COVID-19 vaccines across the country.
