USAID provided an additional $1.7 billion to the Government of Ukraine for direct budgetary support to alleviate the acute budget deficit. This funding will respond to critical needs such as paying the salaries of healthcare workers and other essential services. USAID delivered 33,600 U.S.-donated pediatric COVID-19 doses to Bhutan. These vaccines will help Bhutan safeguard children and families against COVID-19. USAID Chief Scientist Dr. Ticora V. Jones hosted a seminar “Feeding the Future with Insects” based on research by World Bank partners. She spoke with experts on the myriad of benefits insect farming provides to mitigate hunger and increase food security. USAID, alongside the United Kingdom, signed a new partnership that will support the Central Bank of Yemen to strengthen their economy.
